SDI feels that quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) is the most important part of the planning and design process in that the project timeline is expedited when we use our QA/QC process. Below are some methods that we use in-house and with our clients to ensure that quality and accuracy is achieved:

• We will conduct a site survey of existing site conditions and this includes the engineer assigned to the project, the project manager, the computer operator and the survey representative. This will ensure that we have visually seen all of the nuances of the site and verify existing conditions
• We will have a preliminary meeting with the client's representative that will be involved with the project to ensure that their concerns are addressed in the proposed design. This meeting will establish timelines for when the final plans will be completed and submitted.
• We will assign an engineer and a project manager for this project who will work together to ensure that field work and plan products are produced and delivered in a timely fashion.
• We will perform the courthouse research to ensure that all property plats, deeds and exhibits are current for our design.
• We will create preliminary design documents for review to ensure that the desired scope of the project has been addressed prior to moving on to detail design. This will ensure that work is done once and thereby saving our client's time and expense.
• We will refer to past similar projects that we have designed to ensure that we have thought through all of the potential design criteria.
• We perform internal reviews with other engineers to critique and check design assumptions, drawings, and calculations.
• Pre-bid meetings and analysis of the bidder's proposals are services we can provide our clients to ensure that the prospective project is set up for success from the beginning.
